Decompression Therapy

For more than 15 years decompression therapy has been the solution for non-surgical relief of lower back and neck pain. Decompression therapy helps patients restore their spinal stability and relieve pain associated with herniated discs, rigid discs, degenerative disc disease, facet syndrome and spinal stenosis.

Decompression Therapy and Disc Repair

Decompression Therapy is a specialized, state-of-the-art medical procedure used to resolve the pain associated with diseased discs, herniated discs, bulging discs and arthritic spinal joints. The patient lies down as specially designed harnesses are attached above and below the injured spinal areas.

Mild pressure gently separates the harnesses causing negative pressure or vacuum within the disc. This negative pressure draws the herniated or bulging disc material back into the middle of the disc. Once the pressure is taken off the sensitive nerve tissue the patient will experience pain relief.

With regular treatments, injured disc fibers are allowed time to heal. Additionally, this negative pressure forces nutrients and fluids into the disc to assist with re-hydration and healing of the disc.

Strength Restoration

Afterwards, supporting muscles and ligament bands that hold the disc material in place are strengthened with the use of our RX1 Strength Restoration Machine. This will help maintain the repair of the injured area. Each decompression treatment includes a 15 minute back strengthening session. Restoration of lower back strength is essential in your recovery process.

Arthritis, Stenosis and Sciatica

Decompression therapy is also effective in the treatment of spinal stenosis, disc degeneration, sciatica, degenerative disc disease, and arthritis. The decompression forces applied during the treatment will open up areas of degeneration providing relief of nerve tension and pressure.

Patient Evaluation, Treatment and Costs

Dr. Hamilton will take a thorough initial history, perform a spinal examination, and evaluate all MRI's or Cat Scan's to determine if you are a candidate for decompression therapy.

Afterwards, with a complete understanding of your back condition the doctor will recommend a treatment plan. Your treatment plan will be designed to correct your spinal condition as quickly and affordably as possible. Your insurance will be reviewed and you will be made aware of all costs before any decompression therapy is performed. We offer flexible payment plans and also no interest financing.

Once the doctor has made his recommendations YOU decide if decompression therapy is the right choice for you.

Is Spinal Decompression Right for Everyone?

Patients with lower back and neck pain that is caused by fractures, tumors, infection or disease processes are not candidates for decompression therapy. Dr. Hamilton determines your proper course of treatment and whether your condition could benefit from our non-surgical program.
